COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan

The following information is subject to change at any time. Please check back often as we move closer to the convention.

Fire and Ice Gaming Convention takes the health and safety of our guests seriously, and in planning the 2022 show we are looking to health organizations and local leaders for guidance in making our 2022 policies.

At this time neither the City of Manitowoc, nor The Holiday Inn (IHG) have mask mandates/requirements in place. Signs will be posted on entrances encouraging people to wear a mask. WE WILL REQUIRE PROOF OF VACCINATION FOR ALL ATTENDEES – please show proof at registration in order to receive your badge. To make this enforceable, we will require all guests in spaces directly included in our contract to display their player badge at all times throughout the convention.

A few things will be happening during the convention to facilitate safety: no tablecloths used in the gaming spaces, reduced capacity in rooms with greater space between tables, time between scheduled events to allow for sanitization of tables/rooms. We are intentionally scheduling fewer games at each table and fewer tables in each room. The Holiday Inn will also provide sanitization stations and masks will be available at registration.

We will only have control over the spaces directly included in our contract. At this time the hotel is not requiring vaccination or masking for guests. Please contact the Manitowoc Holiday Inn directly with any questions regarding hotel policies (920-682-6000).

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting the Fire and Ice Gaming Convention you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
